With no direction or home...

Wow. Two posts in the span of a week. This is rare.
Honestly I've been bored a lot lately. I should be writing a book, but I find that there's a lot less effort to come on here and ramble on than to come up with words to describe a character.
I make decisions based on how little effort I have to use. That's probably not a good thing.
Anyway, with the time that I should be using writing, I managed to fix up this blog for the first time in about a year and a half. The last theme/layout/template/whatever looked kind of outdated and kind of an eyesore, co I cleaned it up a little bit. It's nothing special really, but hopefully it's a little more appealing to look at now than it was before.
I couldn't really think of a proper title for this post. I wanted to be original but yet I'm not very creative so I just stole from Bo-.
Actually, nevermind. I'm gonna let you guess who I'm referencing. Whoever names the person I'm quoting first gets...a high five.

Something or another.

Well hello there.
It's been around six or seven months since I last posted, which really isn't that surprising due to the context of my last post, and I don't know why but for the last couple of weeks or so I've been wanting to write a post on here. I just didn't know what to write.
First I was going to write something along the lines of how much Stardoll, among other things, has changed but then I decided against it because I got lazy. Then I was going to write another post about a subject that I have now forgotten. And then I just decided to write some sort of ramble post because it's my blog and I can do what I want.
No I'm not loosely quoting Miley Cyrus.
Anyway so here we are. I'm not exactly sure if anybody reads this blog anymore and if they do, I'm not sure why. My posts on this blog revolved around what I was doing on Stardoll or what was currently happening in the Stardoll universe. I started this blog in 2011, back when the main currency was Stardollars and there were only five ways to get Starpoints. The things I posted about back then are no longer relevant to anyone. Whether it be the people who were already considered "old members" during that time, the people who had just joined or all the new members that have come since, the posts really don't have a use anymore.
And I guess that's the problem with Stardoll Blogs like mine. Your posts really don't stand the test of time. They're relevant for a certain time frame and then they just kind of expire. In retrospect, it's kind of depressing looking back and realizing that all the effort that I had put into reporting on the latest happenings on Stardoll was kind of a waste of time in the end.
But then again, that's just one side of the coin. My blog was also a document into where the site was back in that time, from my eleven year old perspective. Looking back on it is like taking a trip down memory lane, to see what once was and compare it to how things are today. And I guess that makes it all worthwhile, or at least for me it does.
It's a little weird to think that it has been four years since I joined Stardoll, but it's even weirder to think that some might consider me an "old member". Back in my first year of being on this site, I always felt like a brand new member. I remember wishing I had joined the previous year so I could experience all of the old Hotbuys and LE and all of the old store items that were released before I even knew what Stardoll was. It's insane to think that now somebody may wish that they were around when I was ( that's kind of a dumb statement because I'm pretty sure that there isn't anybody out there like that but you never know...). But I guess that's how things go.
(This should say 2014 on the last one but for some reason it didn't save like that)
I don't know what this post is really. Just kind of a little hello. I guess.
Most of what I said in my last post still remains true, but I do get bored a lot and lately I've been finding myself on Stardoll a lot more so don't be too surprised if you see a post here and there.

My Current Relationship with Stardoll.

Hello loves.
So for those who still read this lovely little blog, I apologize for the absence. I think the last time I posted was well over six months ago and...I'm sorry for that.
But that very cause is the reason why I'm here today. A little rant/lengthy ramble about how I currently feel about Stardoll. Feel free to disregard this post and continue to read other posts, but this one may explain a lot.

As of today, October 14th, 2013, I am thirteen years of age. I started this blog around three years ago, when I was simply just over ten. My whole experience with Stardoll had begun and I was simply fascinated and intrigued by it all. Dress up dolls and clubs and wow so much fun for a little ten year old like I was three years ago. This little high really lasted for a while. I felt the same way about it much as I entered the age of eleven. I was Royalty within less than a year, spent a shit load of money on this site, posted nearly every day on this here blog, made Stardoll Makeup Tutorials, I was determined to become something here.
My thoughts and feelings during these time, up until mid last year anyway, have been well documented on this blog. It's self explanatory really.
However the determination of yesterdays past has long faded. And that's partially due to me growing up, of course I should've known that I couldn't be here forever. That'd be impossible. But Stardoll has changed too, rather drastically since I first joined - on that cloudy March day in 2010. Since then over 200,000,000 more members have joined (how many of them are real accounts is behind me), the layout has changed, and more features and contests have been introduced. Rather quickly, if I may add. I'm still on Stardoll of course. Just not doing what I used to. I've ventured into the world of roleplaying and own a little 600+ member club inwhich I've met some very wonderful friends in. My writing has improved significantly since my days here, and I'm quite happy with it all. I'm not departing from the site soon, by any means. I've spent too much money and time and effort on everything to give it away all so quickly. Like I said I have my club and such. This blog won't be going away either, but I wouldn't be expecting any new posts unless I hop on here one night and rant. Because in all honesty, it'd be impossible for me to keep it running regularly like I did back in 2011. I've been out of the main loop for well over a year, my Royalty membership expired well back in December, and like I mentioned it's not my place on this site anymore really. While most of the blogs I read have now faded into obscurity seemingly, there are still a lot of good Stardoll blogs around here to keep you up to date on things. I think USD is still running, I'm not sure what else to recommend really uh...
Anyway. I'm sorry that I couldn't keep going here. I'm sorry if I let anyone down, and I'm sorry if your disappointed. In a sense, I'm disappointed too. But nothing's perfect and we all have to move on.
If you are just joining the little Times family here then welcome to the blog. My name is Sara, this blog contains a lot of...stuff. Little pointless rambles about nothing. I hope you enjoy it. I enjoyed it too. It's something that I will always remember and cherish - which is why I'm not deleting the blog or anything. I can't. That just wouldn't be right.
If y'all want to keep in touch with me just pop me a message on Polyvore. You can find me right here. If you want Tumblr, Twitter, etc links - just ask. I'd be happy to give them to you.

Hackers and stupidity.

Hey guys.
So I know I haven't really blogged in a while and I do apologize for that. I really don't have an excuse, since I actually have been on Stardoll
Except for the only thing I've been doing is roleplaying and occasionally checking into TRR.
So yeah.
However today someone popped up on my chat box and messaged me this.
If you can't read this it says:
" Just thought I'd let you know, but on March 21st VixonVampiress is going to HACK Stardoll along with her "gang". Look at her presentation. They've already hacked Twitter and Facebook!"
I kind of tweaked that and re-arranged the words but you get the point here.
Out of curiosity I visited this girls page and read her presentation, and here's a screenshot:

Apparently the Pinkitas ( which what the heck is that anyway) are the gang that are supposedly going to hack Stardoll
Now people like this make me laugh because of the stupidity involved. Hacking websites is much harder than hacking accounts, because it involves a lot of intelligence when it comes to computers and the internet. Not to mention, it's illegal. If this "gang" hacked both Twitter and Facebook, which are two of the biggest social networking sites on the internet there is no doubt they would be caught and perhaps be put in jail for a certain amount of years. This is obviously just a hoax meant to scare other members, just like the infamous "Italian Mafia" thing back in the day. It's nothing more and certainly nothing to be worried about.

Refreshing.

Hey Guys,
So I don't know if you all have noticed or not, but I changed the layout and theme of the blog. Something a little more suitable for fall. Plus I like the vintage theme :)
I'm also working on a new Blogger/SD Twitter/ Formspring icon. So expect that to come here soon.

Stardoll Clothing Haul!

Hey,
So last summer I made a post called " Stardoll Clothing Haul." where I showed you all some things I recently purchased in the Starplaza. And since I'm bored I thought I would do another one.
As you can tell I numbered them. Why? Because I felt like it...XD

1.  Antoinette Skirt
Store: Starbazaar  (Tingling)
Price: 4 Stardollars
Opinion: I bought this because it was simple and cheap. You can't go wrong with a simple black pencil skirt and there is endless outfits you can make with this.

2. Hotbuys Zebra Heels
Store: Starbazaar ( Rio ♀)
Price: 24 Stardollars
Opinion: These were released in the summer, but I didn't get the chance to snatch them up before they left the Starplaza in late August.  24 stardollars isn't bad because I've seen people sell them for 40+.  I think they're cute and unique ☺

3. Black Folds Belt
Store: Windows On The World
Price: 3 stardollars
Opinion: I like it. Nothing else to say.

4. Marfik Jacket
Store: Killah
Price: 18 stardollars
Opinion: This jacket is very versatile and wearable, and that's why I bought it. Although 18 stardollars  is a little bit of a hefty price to pay but since it's so wearable it's worth it.

5. Hotbuys Denim Corset top
Store: Starbazaar ( Rio ♀)
Price: 18 Stardollars ( Originally 20)
Opinion: Don't really have much to say about this, the only reason why I bought it is because it was 18 stardollars and looked sort of cute.

6. Brown Cardigan
Store: Archive ( It Girls)
Price: 6 Stardollars
Opinion: Another item I bought because of it's cheap price. That and it looks like something good for fall.

7. Mizar Shirt
Store: Killah
Price: 14 Stardollars
Opinion: I LOVE THIS SHIRT! It's so spring like and pretty, I love it!

8. Bryant Flower Shirt
Store: Miss Sixty
Price: 16 stardollars
Opinion: The prize of my haul. I love it! It's so summer-y and perfect for a hippie look. It's on my doll right now and I love it ☺

9. Hotbuys Diamond Print Frock
Store: Original Future
Price: 22 stardollars
Opinion: It's unique, and if you paired if with a simple blazer and proper accessories it would look like a really good outfit. That's why I bought it ☺

10. Nude Forties Blouse
Store: Windows on the world
Price: 81 starcoins
Opinion: Simple, pretty, I like it.

11. Queen of Sogo shirt
Store: Fallen Angel
Price: 8 stardollars
Opinion: I like it because of the color. IT'S GORGEOUS!

12. Bow ruffle skirt
Store: Pretty in Love
Price: 12 stardollars
Opinion: It's pretty. End of story.

13. Daisy mini skirt
Store: Bonjour Bizou
Price: 13 stardollars
Opinion: This would be a good statement piece for an outfit. I like it a lot!

It's now 2:00 AM. I'm exhausted, good night!

Happy Halloween!( and what my doll is for Halloween...)

Hey!
So you know what today is, right?
It's October 31st, meaning it's Halloween!
As I said in my Halloween post from last year, every Halloween I do a fun doll.
So this year I decided to be...
a Gothic Bride!
Now the makeup look was actually pretty easy. It had to be dramatic  but dark as well. So here's the products I used:

Not a whole lot, but enough.
Anyway I've got to run, but have a nice Halloween!

All things TRR

I'm declaring today International TRR Appreciation Day.

I just think the club deserves it. ☺
In honor of this very special day, I am going to highlight some of my favorite TRR posts and people.
First off there's Reneè:
I love her doll.  ♥
But I also love her posts on both TRR and the forum.
Here's a few:

I admit, I laughed.

Taken from the forum, Tacos are amazing.

Yeah I went post stalking. I cracked.
And finally remember when I made a post about Stardoll publishing a book about winning Covergirl? Yeah, well I also made a topic about it in TRR and Reneè speaks the truth.
Yes I enlarged it, and yes we are the greatest people you'll ever meet.

Then there's Seth.
She also never fails to crack me up.

And on the forum...
And there's more, I'm just too lazy to put it on here...ahahaha.

Next up is  Jasmine.

Jasmine
THE LEADER YOUNGLING!

Last December there was a topic about the older members of TRR, and how they formed their own little posse . So Jasmine, Kat and I formed our own little posse called "Young-lings" Yeah we're awesome.
This kills me, absolutely kills me.

And so does this.

Finally there's Kat.

That medoll just says it all.
Her posts on the club and forum are awesome. Check em out yourself.

And everyone else in TRR is also amazing! Including Liz, Lel, Sabrina, Jordyn, and all the others I forgot to mention.

MSW 2012 Finalists ( and the new achievement.)

Hey!
So yesterday, Stardoll released the finalists for MSW 2012!
I, of course, voted for starlilly29 since she's representing the United States which I'm from. Plus she's had some pretty good outfits.
Now I did take the time to see who was representing Turkey, because the winners of 2010 and 2011 were both from there.
Her user name is SuperElizas and she's been a member since December 20th 2010. Her doll looks pretty good, so I say she has a decent shot of winning.

All of the finalists ( and semi-finalists) will be getting an achievement for being in the competition.
The people who were Semi-Finalists last year and in 2010 also get this award. Which is good because they deserve it!

I have no idea if the finalists from last year will get this too, although they should. I like the design of it ☺

I don't know when voting ends, but probably sometime here in the next week or two.

She returns?

Hey,
So I have a couple of hours to pass before I go to bed, and I decided to look through my guestbook messages and you will not believe what I found.
Does anyone remember lilSmiley101? If not, let me tell you.
On April 4th, 2011 she made a claim that I had accused her of being a hacker.
On April 20th, she made a blog and posted this:

Oh the irony...
I  never snuck onto her account,  nor did I make a blog post calling her a hacker.
So now she's asking me to join her club?
The recent comment was made four months ago, but seriously do you think she forgot everything that happened?
Idk, but I'm certainly not getting dragged back into this mess again...

Halloween Tutorials?

Last year, I did a batch of Halloween tutorials and I'm going to start doing them again!
This year:
Lady Gaga-Paparazzi look
Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz
80's look
Updated Marilyn Monroe look ( I did one last year, but it didn't turn out so well...)
and a lot more!

Another "The Stardoll Times"?

I am honestly surprised at this.
I typed in thestardolltimes.blogspot.com in my url, and look what I found...
Apparently there is another blog called The Stardoll Times, created one day after mine..
I made this a little large because of the text being so small. I highlighted the date that the post was posted.  November 6th 2010.
Now I'm not going to get into a whole thing here. Why? Well let me explain...
The urls are different:
Her's: thestardolltimes.blogspot.com
Mine: sbadvice.blogspot.com
Why is mine sbadvice? Well a couple months before I started this blog, I created an advice called spadvice. At the time I was new to blogging and thought that the other one was deleted (when it really wasn't...) and created this one. After I started blogging regularly, I thought about changing the url. But I was kind of scared that it would mess everything up. So I didn't.
Reason Number Two:
The owner of the blog, Chloe, probably didn't even know that there was another blog called The Stardoll Times. So I'm not going to start bashing her for something she didn't even know.
And lastly, reason number three:
It's not like the blogs are the same. I mean sure we post about Stardoll but the blog appearances are different, and it looks like she quit posting after November 9th, 2010. And during the time that she did post, it was about Freebies. Which I haven't done in a long time.
So yeah...
- Sara

New Dot and Doree...and Sara's opinion

Hey,
So today Stardoll released a new collection of Dot and Doree.
Dot, the first floor.

It's getting to the point where the Dot collections are getting repetitive. I promise you that there was a collection with similar-if not the same, colors earlier in the year. I'm sure if I search around in the blog archives, I'll find something...
Second, didn't Stardoll just release a new Dot collection last week?    The MSW collection?
I don't really have much to say about Doree. The colors are okay...I probably won't buy any.
Edit: AHA!

I WAS RIGHT!
At the end of March, Stardoll released a Spring collection! The blue is a replica of " Malibu Blue" which I have a shade-stick of and the yellow is a replica of "Butter cup". Also the " Midnight black" is the same as the Black eye shadow that I use in my videos.
A little research paid off.
- Sara

Yet another look at my Starpoint plant..

Yesterday I posted about getting starpoints. Today I'll be showing you my Starpoint plant, for the third time.

This is it! It has certainly grown since November when it looked like this:
This was taken on November 11th, at the time I had 3773 Starpoints ( this before the new system was introduced.) and the branches were beginning to grow. And it has changed drmatically since I first told you all about my Starpoint Plant back in March of 2011.

At the time this was taken I had 2688 starpoints. Which is about a 1,085 starpoint difference.

On my way up, a little Starpoint prediction PART II

Last year I made a post about Starpoints and how to earn them quicker. Since then, Stardoll has changed their starpoints system and I decided to write a new one that is a little more up-to-date. There is some math incorporated in this, so enjoy!

Let's start off with the basics.
If you are a SS/Royalty member, you can now earn up to 14 starpoints a day, if you are a non-SS you can earn up to 12 starpoints a day-same as before.
Now that Stardoll has introduced the "Levels" system, things are a little different. In order to level up, you must have a certain number of starpoints.
Earning Starpoints has changed dramatically since last time. You can still do the Play and Earn system to earn Starcoins, but in order to earn Starpoints you have to complete achievements which I'll explain later on.

What is an Achievement?
"  Achievements are tasks that you can complete to win awards and gain Starpoints. For each achievement that you complete, you will receive an achievement award that you can display on your achievement shelf under your suite. Earning achievements will give you Starpoints which will help you level up faster and will unlock new items as well as functions on the website. The achievements are in one of 6 categories: Core, Design, Sell, Social, Collect and Competitions." - Stardoll's Help Section
Example of the Achievements section, this is mine. =)
Confused? When this system first came out, I was too, but after reading it over a couple of times I got it.
Each Achievement that you earn gives you a certain number of Starpoints which will help you level up.

This particular achievement will give you 2 starpoints.

Which Achievements will give me the most Starpoints?
If you win a competition, such as Covergirl or Best Scenery, you will receive 25 starpoints.  That is the most Starpoints you can earn from an achievement.
But let's face it out of the 196,513,575 members of Stardoll, only 365 members will become Cover-girls this year. So the easier, high starpoint, achievements include:
Fit for a queen (Royalty Member) = 15 Starpoints
No place like Stardoll (logging in everyday for 30 days.) =  15 starpoints
Stardoll 365 (logging into Stardoll everyday for 365 days, or a year.) = 25 starpoints
Social Butterfly (creating 10 chat-rooms) = 15 starpoints ( just got this one today, took me three days to do it, but if you create 2 chat rooms an hour it would only take 5 hours =P )
Girls, Girls, Girls (owning a club with 100 members) =  15 starpoints
Gift Giver ( give one gift to a friend) = 7 starpoints ( I know that isn't a lot, but if you give someone a cupcake, you'll be getting 7 starpoints for 9 starcoins which is a great bargain!)
And a couple of more.

A little more about Levels.
Levels are a little more easier to understand. The concept is simple, in order to level up you must earn Starpoints. And since I just explained about that, from here on out it gets really simple.
There is unlimited levels.  Right now I'm on level 51 =)
As you can see, I have earned 80 starpoints so far in level 51. I have to have 199 starpoints until I level up in level 52 so it's going to be awhile.
The best thing about labels...well to me anyway is this:

YOU CAN PLAY WITH THE STARPOINT HAIRSTYLES! :D :D
You can't save them on your doll, but I can use them in Youtube Tutorials.
WHICH IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
^^ Happy Sara ^^
Here comes the math...
I'll start this off easy.
Let's say you get 14 starpoints a day and you need 199 points to level up.
199/14 = 14.2
So it would take you 14 days to earn 199 points, to level up.

Now let's say your a non-SS and you can only earn 12 points a day and you need 199 points to level up.
199/12 = 16.5
So it would take you 17 days ( When it comes to decimals, if it is .5 or greater you just go onto the next number.) to level up, which is a little longer.
But not everyone gets 14 or even 12 points a day. So let's get a more average number.
199/7 = 28.4.
So 28 days.

But not everyone needs 199 points to level up. Let's say you need 88 points.
88/14= 6.2
So you can level up in a matter of 6 days, which is pretty impressive really.
Now if you earn 12 points a day, it won't take that long either.
88/12= 7.3
A week? Not so bad...
Let's put in our average number, which is 7.
88/7 = 12.5
13 days.

So yeah that's your math lesson for today kids! XD

MSW '12 Semi Finalists

Hey Guys!
So I know it's been a little while, but I finally got my home internet back.
Which means I can post more often =)
YAY!
So today Stardoll selected the Semi Finalists for MSW 2012
I voted for CrystalsJoy, like I did last year for my country. I'm not surprised that she got in, after all she was on the Top Designer list many many times.
I went over to see who placed in Austrialia, because my TRR friend Kat (popcornDaisy) decided to run again. And if you may remember, last year she got in the Semi Finals and she got in again this year!

Congratulations Kat!
In TRR we all made bets on MSW. And I placed 5 Starcoins that Kat would get in, and she did.

I now am getting 5sc!
Who do you think will make it to the finals?

MSW Store relased!

So with today being the first day of MSW 2012, Stardoll released the store!

I like it! I like it alot! And I like it so much that I think it's better than last years!
And the prices are cheap too! The pink and sliver dresses were only 15 stardollars! Which in these days, is a bargain because usually they're priced at 20+.
So I bought them =)
- Sara

MSW 2012 begins today!

So the first round of MSW '12 beigns...today!
And so far I have people already asking me to vote them.
Which I honestly don't mind doing.
Anyway, on the campagin page if you promote yourself you can free gifts. So I took a shot at it.

(Here are the gifts...)
The gifts are the same as last years, but just in a different color... blue. But I think it's a very pretty shade of blue so, for freebies they're pretty good.

A Rant.

I know it's been awhile since I've made a post, but I am still without my home internet. So forgive?
Anyway, today I wanted to make a rant. This time it's about Stardoll Royalty.

I recently let my Royalty membership expire. For the first time since May of 2010 I was a non superstar. I was-and still am, suprised on how Stardoll has changed the way it treats the Non-SS's.  I still had some Stardollars left and bought a skirt from the Dolce & Gabanna tribute and it let me! Even though I wasn't a SS! I was stunned.
But here's the ironic part. In that one week I got little to no friend requests, people barely visited me.
But then I renewed my membership and the requests started rolling in!
I find it sad really. Are we so obsessed with a diamond, that if someone doesn't have it we won't be their friend?
